Radio Frequency Facials
Radio Frequency Facials are considered an effective non-surgical procedure. With this treatment, radio waves penetrate the outer skin layers and deliver heat energy to the muscles and tissues beneath. This heat stimulates collagen and elastin production, and that, in turn, triggers tissue contraction. The overall result is tighter, brighter skin and a significant reduction in sags and wrinkles.
RF facials are not exactly painless, a sensation of warmth is felt and this varies from person to person, having said this it isn't exactly a painful experience either, just a noticeable sensation of warmth.
The radiofrequency facelift has been approved by the FDA as a non-surgical treatment for wrinkles and facial skin imperfections. This treatment requires no downtime. Best of all, results are immediately noticeable, and they become even more so in the weeks following the treatment as the build-up of collagen effects further skin contraction.
During a typical session, the therapist will apply a topical anaesthetic cream to your skin and then massage the treatment area with a special device delivering targeted radio-frequency energy. For optimum results, it's recommended to have a session every one or two weeks. Most clients require up to 10 sessions, followed by ongoing monthly maintenance treatments.
Common Anti-Aging Concerns Treated with RF Facials
Radiofrequency energy is primarily used to treat skin laxity through skin tightening for the face or body. This treatment on the face is effective on both light and dark skin, and best results are seen by patients in their mid-30s to mid-50s, who display mild to moderate facial sagging.
This treatment helps tighten the skin on your face and neck. It can be also used on the arms, belly, thighs, and other problem areas. Radio-frequency treatment has been proven effective against cellulite, deep wrinkles, and excess fatty tissues. It's ideal for both men and women, and can visibly diminish the signs of ageing. Unlike other procedures, it works on the deepest layers of your skin without causing redness, irritation, or swelling.
RF energy is commonly used to treat the following areas:
• Forehead (lifts brows and tightens forehead skin)
• Under Eyes (firms skin and tightens and lifts the upper cheek)
• Cheeks (lifts slightly and diminishes enlarged pores)
• Mid-Face and Jaw Line (diminishes jowls and sagging along the jawline)
• Neck (treats "chicken neck" by tightening skin and diminishing wrinkles)
It is also worth noting that when RF energy is used in combination with other modalities, it can enhance the results derived from treatments that include: hair removal, photo-rejuvenation, pigment and vascular problems, acne treatment and cellulite treatment.
* NOTE: If there is an excess of sagging skin (as seen in many patients over 60), this procedure may not achieve the desired results. In such cases, we may recommend the microcurrent facial. If we are not able to offer you a suitable solution we will definitely be open and honest with you.
